Stephen Potts recently joined the Purdie Pascoe team as a director. ‘PersPectives’ caught up with Stephen to ask him why he chose our wonderful agency for his next career move and what he thinks he can add to the business.

PersPectives: Welcome to Purdie Pascoe, Stephen. Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Stephen: Thank you. For the past 25 years, I have been a specialist healthcare market researcher. Working with a number of pharma and MedTech companies, large and small, I’ve helped them with the sales, marketing and market access of their products both pre and post launch. I spent 15 years of my career in Asia working across Asia Pacific and the Middle East. In 2016 I returned to the UK. Since then I have worked closely with international clients based in the US and Europe. Married to my long-suffering wife Jayne, we have 3 children, Caitlin, Eva and Henry, and 2 red setters, Aslan and Zeus!

PersPectives: Most of your career has been spent at larger agencies. Why did you choose to join our boutique agency at this time?

Stephen: The most important thing for me was the level of experience here. I have joined a senior team of 6 directors with more than 150 years’ experience between us. It’s great to be able to learn from so many people at this stage in my career and to know that whatever the business challenge, device or therapy area, we have someone senior with previous experience. Unlike larger agencies, our directors spend most of their time on research projects and delivering great work.

PersPectives: What do you think you can add to the Purdie Pascoe team?

Stephen: Purdie Pascoe is known for its expertise in medical devices, but many of our directors also have strong experience in pharma. Pharma has been my focus and passion throughout my career, especially in oncology, cardiovascular, CNS, respiratory and rare diseases. I think my addition to the team allows us to offer our pharma clients much stronger research design and delivery. I also have a lot of experience in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, which are becoming increasingly important to the success of our clients.

PersPectives: So, what can we look forward to from Purdie Pascoe?

Stephen: Being ‘agile’ is more important than ever before, and we are rising to that challenge. When we combine our experience with the latest digital approaches, we offer our clients research that is faster, more focused and more useful. Watch this space for more product offerings, such as PACE, that offer our clients agility without skimping on quality.
